Jailer 2 has crossed the ₹60 Cr mark in worldwide pre-sales for its opening day. With the film releasing tomorrow, October 15, the Rajinikanth sequel has added more than ₹10 Cr since yesterday, and the final day of advance bookings is now underway.
As of October 14, 9 AM IST, Jailer 2’s opening day pre-sales stand at:
- India: ₹31 Cr
- Overseas: $3.1M (around ₹30 Cr)
- Worldwide: ₹60 Cr+
India Pre-Sales: ₹31 Cr
In India, Jailer 2 has crossed ₹31 Cr gross in advance bookings for Day 1. The top performing states are:
- Tamil Nadu: ₹12 Cr
- Karnataka: ₹7 Cr
- Kerala: ₹6 Cr
- Telugu States: ₹5 Cr
Tamil Nadu continues to lead from the front, contributing close to 40 percent of the India total. Karnataka has kept its strong pace with ₹7 Cr, helped by higher ticket prices, while Kerala has once again shown strong support for the franchise. The first Jailer was a massive hit in Kerala, helped by Mohanlal’s cameo, and the sequel is clearly benefiting from that goodwill.
The Telugu States have climbed to ₹5 Cr, a solid improvement over the last day, though the Telugu version is still trending well below Rajinikanth’s last film Coolie.
Jailer 2 Overseas Pre-Sales: $3.1M
Overseas pre-sales have reached $3.1M, or around ₹30 Cr. The top performing markets are:
- North America: $1.2M
- Middle East: $750K
- Europe: $400K
North America has crossed $1M in premiere pre-sales, with the USA alone closing at $965K and Canada adding to it after bookings opened this morning. The Middle East, always a strong market for Tamil and Malayalam audiences, is the second biggest contributor.
₹10 Cr Added in a Day
On Monday evening, Jailer 2’s worldwide pre-sales stood at around ₹50 Cr. In less than a day, the film has added more than ₹10 Cr, showing that bookings are finally picking up speed as release day arrives.
Rajinikanth films are known for massive final-day bookings, especially in Tamil Nadu, where the biggest jumps usually come in the last few hours before the first shows.
How Far Can It Go?
A ₹100 Cr+ worldwide opening is certain. How far beyond that Jailer 2 goes will depend on how much the film adds today and on the word of mouth from the USA premieres tonight and the first shows in India tomorrow morning.
If the talk is positive, walk-in audiences can push the opening well past ₹100 Cr. If the talk is mixed, the film will have to depend mostly on its pre-sales.
